It’s been a busy old week, now that I’ve got over my illness and have 2 projects going on. I had to miss the Chamber of Commerce Christmas networking, which was a blow to my virtual assistance Marketing. However, I now have my business cards for networking on Friday, so I am back on track for that project.

In terms of my pet sitting project. As my target audience is not business owners, I am going for a different Marketing tactic. Namely Marketing direct to cat owners in their homes. I know the area I want to cover, so my husband and I set out on Tuesday and delivered a large proportion of my flyers. It was really enjoyable. Although letterboxes are harder work these days!

I had no idea which houses owned cats (unless they were conveniently sat in the window). But if the homeowner doesn’t own a cat themselves, I’m hoping that they have a friend/relative who does. Also, I’m not expecting to hear from anyone straightaway, I just hope they might put the flyer on the fridge. Once Christmas is out of the way and people start planning next year’s holiday/s, I would like to think that it would trigger a memory of receiving a flyer from me.
The next step is putting some flyers on notice boards in my local supermarkets/shops. It seems old school but far less cluttered than social media these days and I always look at the notice board in Waitrose, so I’m hoping everyone else does too. I really do like having a Marketing plan, with lots of different activities and seeing where it takes me.

I am finding B2C Marketing far more exciting, mainly because I am a customer myself and I feel that I have more knowledge in this area. The business world is changing so much due to A1. I think some business owners are thinking they can automate everything to save money on staff and outsourced resources. From a personal perspective, it’s hard to find your niche in the current business world.
So I am moving forwards, I have sorted out insurance, I have enhanced DBS clearance and I am ready to run/walk/cycle to ensure the cats and plants of the neighbourhood are fed and watered. You can find out more about services and prices here.
