Yesterday was affectionally known as Blue Monday in the UK and aptly the weather co-operated with this theme by being very grey and drizzly. Hopefully we all got through it ok and are looking forward to better days to come, where the sun will shine and the days will be longer and warmer.

This made me think about cats and what influences their mood. Studying my own cats, I know that they are happiest when we’re around for them, when the heating is on, when they’re being fed and when they’re getting attention. I know when we come back from a weekend away or a holiday, that we have to put in extra effort to win them around.

I do know that it would have taken a lot longer to win them around if they hadn’t been in their own home, whilst we were away. Our cats are both rescue cats, so I know how much they appreciate having a stable home, full of familiar smells and multiple places to sleep.
This is true of all cats. They love their little area of the world and it explains why they often get confused when they’re required to move house. So, it seems common sense to reduce these moves as much as possible, if you want a happy cat and harmonious household.

This is where I come in. I’m sure your cat/s would prefer it if you never went away but breaks away are definitely good for our physical and mental health and cats probably understand this really. I act as a stand in servant for them whilst you’re away – feeding them, cleaning out their litter tray, playing with them and spending time with them.
I find that once they’ve got over the initial annoyance that I’m not you, they’re very accommodating. Appreciating that I am there to make their life easier and eager to please them. So, if you’re planning any trips away, I’m happy to ensure that you cat/s receive the five-star treatment that they’re used to. Contact me here.
